Around 61.5% of workers between 15 and 64 years and 64.6% of people able to work appeared on the job market at the beginning of 2007. 18.3% of job seekers between 15 and 24 managed to find a job. Unemployed have been looking for new jobs for the past one year or more and have been registered for 17.8 months, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) revealed.
Investments went up by 53% in the processing industry. Compared to last year, however, real estate transactions and economic services went down by 17.4%.
